Question about Dish on LCD TV

Hey guys. Just got a 52" Samsung 850 LCD. Was completely floored by how good it looks when playing Planet Earth on HD-DVD. I then hooked up my Dish (which is on a 522 box using Svideo) and it looks worse than the older rear projection set I had. Is that because LCD is just going to show the flaws of svideo more? That box won't do anything higher than svideo. Anyone have one of the HD Dish boxes (like the 722) running through HDMI? Does it significantly improve the SD channels? Just trying to decide if I should spend the $75 and 2 year extended committment to get the new box. Thanks a lot.

Svideo's horrible compared to component or HDMI...I don't have Dish but I'm pretty damn sure you'll get better picture with the new connection. It does take a little getting used to SD on a HDTV though, because it is a little different, but I don't think Svideo is even HD.
