    siriusxm

I thought I read somewhere that the merger between Sirius and XM would not result in an increase in subscription fees. Doesn't seem to be true, to listen to the best of XM on Sirius, it is a 4 dollar increase.

I hope there isn't an increase to listen to MLB coverage next year.

Quick question to those with Sirius, is there any way to listen to the AlCS or NLCS? Thanks.

PS In case Razr reads this, I did do a search first before posting.

You can still get "Sirius" for no additional charge - you would get the same rate as before. The "Best of" packages are $4/ radio, and also an al la carte feature which is more.

Those with Sirius lose because they do not get the MLB programming at all with the "Best of XM" package.

I have XM, and with the "Best of Sirius" I now get the NFL, with the NBA to come opening day...

Advice - switch to XM .

An increase is not true at all. If you want details you can PM me, I work at Best Buy selling the stuff but I don't feel like writing it all down right now.

It's not raising your original rate, but if you want more programming, you have to pay the $4 more per month.

I switched mine to a yearly charge, which gave a price "break" of about $2-3 month more to what I was paying already.

In my book it is an increase. When the two companies merged, the programming should have merged, again, imo. You shouldn't have to pay extra for the XM additions, imo. It is as though they are still two separate entities owned by the same company instead of one new combined bigger and better service.

Why can't Sirius get MLB when XM can get the NFL? That doesn't seem right.

I can't switch very easily. Our new vehichle has Sirius built in and I just bought a new Starmate with a boombox.

Yeah - not too easy there. I don't know the reasoning behind that move. I think from what I understand and have read up on, that Sirius doesn't have enough bandwidth as XM does , which could limit the programming.

I don't know any more than that though

Here's another "answer" from another site I found..

Question: Why isn't the MLB on the Best of XM package for Sirius subscribers?
Answer: We would have liked to provided the MLB for our Sirius subscribers, but have not reached an agreement at this time. We continue to be hopeful that the MLB will be part of the package in the future.

To me, that seems to be complete bunk. If XM merged with Sirius, wouldn't the new company have rights to any and all programming?
Why do they have to "reach an agreement"?

I agree with you. I will guarantee that satellite radio subscribers will not come out ahead when all the dust settles from this merger. They can play their games all they want, satellite radio is a luxury for me, and I can easily live without it. Anymore games and I will drop it, no big deal.
