Re: R.I.P. Dolomite
That track with him and Big Daddy Kane was gold. PLus, seems like I remember 2 live Crew basically sampling entire albums of his stuff. If no one knows what I am talking about- well, they need to google it or something. Plus his videos were hilarious - (at least they were when I was in high school).Truly Blessed - -

Man... I just read about this. Sad stuff, even though I had read for awhile that he wasn't doing too good.Comment

Re: R.I.P. Dolomite
Petey Wheatstraw was a classic, too... Everybody was pimpin in that movie... Even the devil had a red pimp suit on. LOL at everyone calling him "Lou" as in short for Lucifer.Comment

WAAAYYYY DOOOWWNNN in the jungle deep! The bad *** lion stepped on the signifyin monkey's feet. The monkey said, "Mutha****a, can't you see? Why, you standin on my ******* feet!"
Classic Dolomite. One of the Godfathers of original rap. R.I.P.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: R.I.P. Dolomite
I first heard of Dolemite when I saw the first House Party movie with my high school homeboys back in 1990. I never really knew what it was, then I happened to see the movie a few years later in this store in downtown Brooklyn. Of course I picked it up, and it was a wrap after that.
My favorite dialogue from Dolemite was with the two crooked white cops:
Cops: We heard about you and your black hoes, Dolemite...
Dolemite: What, they didn't yell you about the white ones?Comment
