There's no doubt that I think this movie can top it, I still liked The dark knight over avengers, Avengers was like someone said he a total fan service film, I pretty much caught everything in the first shot of seeing it, The dark knight it took me two times seeing it at the theater to really gather everything I just saw

Personally I'm far more excited for The Dark Knight Rises than I am for any movie that features Hulk.

The new Spiderman movie could be interesting too, but Christopher Nolan's take on Batman is just so damn good. I wish this weren't the last movie in the series, but seriously, every Christopher Nolan movie I've seen has been awesome.

There's no 3D in this. If I remember correctly, Nolan doesn't like 3D but he surely loves the IMAX format.

I'll be watching this day one on IMAX.

I didn't say it bothers me, I said it can take me out of the film.

Might also help that the midnight showing is sold out by me, like I also said? No? Guess that part didn't really phase anyone.

Also, IMAX is the way to go with this film, which is why I'll see it in IMAX. Just won't be the first viewing.

Comparing Dark Knight and The Avengers is like apples and oranges to me....the fact they are "superhero" movies is really where the similarities stop IMO. Two different moods.

Either way, I can't wait to see this...

Yeah I was skeptical at first but The Hulk is much better in The Avengers and probably is in most of my favorite scenes. Much better than the movies made about him.

Exactly. The two shouldn't even be compared, they're not even in the same genre. Nowhere near it.

One is an action movie the other a pyschological thriller.

Totally agree with this. The universe of Batman is quite different from ANY comic book character, let alone The Avengers. So much more darker and complex.

And that's why I love Nolan's interpretation of the Batman universe. He captures the dark, gritty nature of Gotham and it's thugs. He also captures Batman's inner demons of his fear of bats and the death of his parents.

It's counterproductive to compare any Batman movie to another comic book movie.

                        Re: The Dark Knight Rises

What Nolan has achieved with the current Dark Knight could be akin to what Frank Miller did with his The Dark Knight Returns series. Everything is nailed down as close to what the Batman should be: dark, brooding, tortured, with unmistakable courage, and an almost superhuman will. Say what you will about Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy as Catwoman and Bane, but I feel that the real essence of the Dark Knight trilogy as a whole is the story of how one man turned his personal loss of seeing his parents' murder into his lifelong mission to spare the people of his city, Gotham, from ever suffering the same trauma, while overcoming his own fears and demons.

I personally like the inclusion of Bane. I think his characterization in The Dark Knight Rises will prove to be far better than it was in the shameful Batman and Robin that was directed by Joel Schumacher. The Dark Knight Rises is one film I will be seeing multiple times for sure.

I'll go because I don't want to wait an extra few months, but part of me doesn't want to watch this film with any other people around. Yes, it will destroy at the box office, but after seen the latest trailer before The Avengers, I got a Shawshank Redemption vibe from this film. A story that's best watched by yourself, where you can totally absorb the character beats of the narrative.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

As a young boy, Bruce Wayne watched in horror as his millionaire parents were slain in front of him--a trauma that leads him to become obsessed with revenge.

I just saw the trailer for TDKR during The Avengers, after being on a self-imposed Batman News "freeze" since specifics started rolling in a few months ago.
