I don't expect this movie to be any different than the last 2 when it comes to the amount of villains. There's been 1 major villain (Ra's, Joker) and then "supporting villains" I guess you'd say (Falcone, Scarecrow, Two-Face, the mob).

I'm curious to see if The Riddler is going to be the major villain for the third movie. I think he will be because like some of you mentioned, the story has played out where it fits that The Riddler would be the major character in the story that goes against Bruce/Batman.

My guess is Catwoman and a villain that will have something to do with the mob will be the other ones in the movie.

And on that notion, I have a feeling this will take place at least a year or so later, or perhaps the bulk of the story. I think they want to go back to a rebuilt Wayne Manor instead of being back in the penthouse, and that will be far enough away from Bruce to still be sulking over the loss of Rachel.

I agree with you thinking the movie will have a jump in time from the end of TDK to the beginning of whatever they're calling the third movie. I don't think Bruce won't be still affected by Rachel's death though.

I'm guessing we'll also see more of a "true" Batmobile in this one, as well as the Batcave.

You know what would be even more interesting? a 5-10 year jump. This way we they can introduce even more of a dramatic element to the story, and I would like to see gotham begin to struggle again. I'm just praying that there isn't a side kick for batman (robin, batgirl, maybe night hawk but that's about it)

That way in this story you can use blackface as the mob is relevant again after being destroyed in the second one.

A 5-10 year jump? I could see that type of jump from Batman Begins to TDK because there was really nothing left hanging, but at the end of TDK you have Batman on the run. Going 5-10 years ahead in the story would take away from the whole manhunt idea Nolan set-up at the end of TDK.

Does it though? If anything that could illustrate the hate that is now directed at batman as they are still vigilantly looking for him. In a way it would be his toughest battle, protecting the people who hate him for killing their "only" hope in Harvey Dent. We would see a batman who's worn down and tired. There would be no need for a villain as time would be his greatest enemy, even though they should have one to further show the wear and tear of living the life that bruce does.

Now we can have the mob return, introduce a villain like blackface, and because bruce is slipping, it would make it easier for the riddler to figure out who he is.

I always thought it would be cool if Bruce Wayne went through a slight appearance change. Like you know, people don't always look the exact same, even actors in movie sequels. Take a look at Chris Tucker in the different Rush Hour movies or Paul Walker in the different Fast & Furious movies.

What I mean is what if Christian Bale put on his John Connor look? The only thing that would make this a problem is his facial hair in the Batman suit, but all I'm saying is that he doesn't have to have the long hair look all of the time just because he's the same character. I look different all the time lol, especially from one year to another just based on how my hair is cut, etc.

They were some movie series' which were close enough year by year in successive sequels where the actor didn't have to look the exact same throughout. Like I understand how we identify the character through how the actor looks, but for instance I was also completely fine with Brad Pitt going through his appearance changes in the Ocean's movies. Same thing could apply here.

But Nolan has a thing for the long, slick hair look.

What is that poster even supposed to be? Freeman's name is spelled wrong, and it says May 2010 at the bottom.

I have no problem with NPH or Hoffmann though (whoever he'd be playing... Penguin maybe?).

NPH as the Riddler wouldn't work for me, unless they were going with a full-comedic type role of a villain. There's not a single part of my brain that would ever look at NPH and be "scared" or even anxious. I look at him and I want to laugh because he's funny.

And yeah, I assume that poster cast Hoffman as the Penguin, which was an early rumor.
