    Halloween II

Two weeks ago Dimension Films made this major announcement where they revealed plans for 18 direct-to-disc sequels for release in 2009. Something interesting that was announced was that following a theatrical release of HALLOWEEN II - the sequel to Rob Zombie's re-envisioning of Michael Myers' tale of terror created by John Carpenter - the plan is to release direct-to-disc sequels to the newly rebooted franchise. This might not be the case, read on for the skinny.

Bloody-Disgusting's BC is on hand at this weekend's Halloween: 30 Years of Terror convention in Pasadena, CA where HALLOWEEN Producer Malek Akkad, son of Moustapha Akkad, revealed to attendees that any-and-all sequels will be theatrically released, contrary to initial reports.

It was also revealed that the sequel will begin directly after Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN and that Tyler Mane will return as Michael.
    This is interesting news.

I love the first two and enjoy all but 3 and the remake because I love the series, but I don't know what to think about this. I'd prefer that they had just let the series be done after Halloween Resurrection. I'll see it when/if it comes out but I know it'll suck.

They have rebooted the franchise, so I guess it is starting all over with RZ's Halloween as the first one of the reboot.

                Re: Halloween II

I'm a huge fan of the Halloween series, but I was disappointed with Zombie's remake and bewildered why they would let him do a sequel.

Great, a sequel to the 2nd worst remake of all time (only following The Fog).

Agree also. I can see why it was done though as it was supposed to be about how he came to be, but I just hope in the future ones it sticks to the form of him being that silent stalking pure embodiment of evil. The less camera time he gets, the scarier the movie is.
