Disney might make a push to buy EA?

    http://blogs.barrons.com/techtraderd...-TB-9382.html?

"ERTS has a market cap of $7.3 billion, of which about $2.6 billion is in cash. Disney would have to borrow to do such a deal, since it has only $2.6 billion in cash on its books. EA does have a lucrative sports franchise that includes the Madden football games; Disney owns ESPN. It’s an interesting theory. But I would note that it appears simply to be a theory, not something that the Journal believes is happening right now."

I wouldnt be surprised one bit if a large media company tries to swoop in on this one.

On a side note EA stock right looks mighty tempting for the long term.

Re: Disney might make a push to buy EA?

Would really be a very funny outcome seeing that EA has basically seemed to remove ESPN from their games and make their own name a big name. If this does go down, how exactly would all those games be? The options are endless in what other games could come out from EA's fold. They wouldn't have to really push for too many licenses but could in fact use some of Disney's old ones as well as current and new ones. That would be a lucrative deal for both companies honestly. I slightly hope this does go down so that there could be a bigger integration between the movie industry and video game industry. However, Disney is more of a PG company so........
