You can't talk about what could happen though. That's my entire beef with that argument. All we can talk about what HAS happened, and they are still not impacting the future, especially in Rousseau's case. She's dead in present time and can't have memories in present day.

So she may have them in that continual past they keep flashing in on but Faraday's claim that it is not impacting the future still holds true.

I understand what you mean as to "what if Jin gets killed" but that hasn't happened. You don't know how it would be able to be explained or if it could cause some time paradox but your discounting the theory on speculation. Unless something HAS happened that I'm not aware of...

And thats exactly the flaw. We see only what the producers want to show us. You can't investigate anything, you can only go by what is shown. But the flaw happens when you think about could be. Just because you are saying Rousseau is dead and doesn't have memories. Desmond is alive and has memories. You can say Desmond is "Special" just because someone said he is special or you can call BS and say because of what we saw with Rousseau, Faradays theory is bunk. The Future can be altered and its not just Desmond. We know Locke was injured by Ethan and those injuries transcended time both forward and back, so I am quite certain that death is permanent.

We'll just have to see how they explain this one, or not because they don't have to explain anything.

I doubt they explain it. I think it's more of a joy ride for the fans. Just a way for us to see past events through the eyes of dead characters so that they don't give us a filler episode that annoys everyone.

Yeah and thats what drives me nuts. Everything they don't explain that we focus on is essentially just filler. When its all said an done, it is just a joy ride, because the relevant story could have been played out in a season or less.

I just hope at the end of the show, I don't have a novel worth of inconsitancies that they don't address.

Been watching reruns on TV and man I love season 1 and 2 for what they where. Don't get me wrong I love the show and it is the only show I watch, but for some reason I miss the mysteries of the island and how they presented themselves in season 1 and 2. I miss not knowing what the monster was and then finding out it was a smoke monster let me down. It just seems the producer changed course and we have 2 different lost series or the producers had several story arcs in mind and changed direction mid stream. I am like you guys and hope that more questions get answered with less new questions added these last 2 seasons.

well I think overall the series has moved in one direction. I dont feel like they "changed course" I think the writers strike, and the determination of the amount of seasons, caused a bit of a LUL going from season 3 to 4 but its back on track and truthfully there arent many episodes left like 20-25 and thats it forever.

They need to end the series with a 3 movie trilogy for the theaters, 1 in January ,June and Christmas 2011.

I've actually said this myself to some friends. I think it would be great, but it could be tragic as well, would they really turn a profit on it after all the hoopla that goes into making a movie, plus are there really enough people that follow Lost to that extent that they can't miss it before it comes out of DVD? I think they could pull one off, but I don't know about three.

F-that, if those two clowns that write the show put more meaning and disclosure into a two hour movie than they have in 50 hours of TV viewing, I may go on a rampage. I'm still ticked about season 2 basically having 45 minutes of valuable viewing time in it.

I doubt we'll see movies for Lost, but I am about 100% certain that there will be more stories after the series.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see novels or comic books that continue the Lost story beyond the series. I think it's definitely heading in that direction.

I wish they were books now so Im down for them to release novels, not sure who would author them.

on a side note, does anyone kow of any "lost tpye" books currently out? by lost type I mean, tricky, make you think type books not actually lost?
