According to this article, it looks like DVR's are included in the Nielsen ratings.

There are so many ways to view a TV show now, it's hard to keep track of everything. Despite this, it appears Lost has lost viewers recently.

If you didn't bail out on the show last season, I don't see why you would this season.

Despite it's flaws, I fee like Lost has been one of the best TV shows this decade.

As much as I love the show, it is completely different than when it started. I enjoyed season 1 and 2 the best. This maybe why it is losing viewers.

People don't like watching shows where they have to use their brains, thus explaining the success of American Idol, Dancing With The Stars, etc. while shows like Lost and Arrested Development struggle to get ratings.

The apparent writing Walt out of the story really bothers me. In an earlier season (1?) they focused an entire episode on Walt, and how he was "special". He even has special powers prior to labing on the island. Syaid also saw a vision of him right before what's her name got shot on the island. Then Locke sees Walt after Ben shoots him and he's laying in the mass grave.

How can they go from using him for all of that to "he's been through enough, let's leave him be"? Of course maybe he will stil play a part in the story, as he did tell Locke he had dreams of him, which must have been ome kind of premonition.

As for Jin in the Dharma suit, we did see Faraday in one at the start of the season as well. He was at the site of the wheel. I'm sure that ties in with Jin being in Dharma digs now.

I want to see where Lost is going, but I agree that it isn't the same show. It's changed a lot. I still love watching it. I'm still in love with the mystery, but it's obvious that it's near it's end and most of the story is just giving us information to understand the final season.

I think we've been avoiding the inevitable here, though. The story is no longer about the Losties landing on a remote Island. They were "saved." And now they got back. So, what are they going to do? Get ready for a war that Widmore and Ben say is coming? What is this war? It seems like it's just a penis fight between Charles and Ben. I hope there's more because that's not a rewarding conclusion to this series.

While I can't fathom her leaving, and she is under contract (as are all the other core players), the whole skeleton/Eve thing from Season One is a mindblowing possibility.

She's a main character but she never brought much to the show. I wouldn't really care of she got killed off, but damn she was looking good in this week's episode when she was talking to Locke in her kitchen.

It makes sense, but if she's auditioning for roles she's not taking a break from acting to do humanitarian work overseas like she's claimed.

I wouldn't miss her if she left.

Mark my words. What Ben is doing is for the common good. I am positive that when its all said and done, things will be reset to a point that no harm or ill has come to anyone.

Don't know how thats all going to play out, but the writers have made him out to be such a callous bastard, that I am sure that will be their big twist.

When Ben says "Who Cares" about all the people who have died, I am certain that its because in the long run it will be because it never happened.

Unfortunately, along the way the writers have painted themselves into some corners because I truly feel that while they may have had the general storyline in place, they have deviated from it when the show became so popular. I also think that they changed things up along the way to keep the public guessing. They read the the forums and when people were closing in on what they were going to do next, they changed things up for the WOW! factor. Now we're stuck in season 5 and getting some quick if not lame answers to some of the greatest mysteries. Hopefully season 5 will pick up and add some meat because write now its bordering on season 2 as far as progressing the real story which will all take place in the final season.

Not sure why they added 2 new characters at this point, a new marshall and the other guy in 1st class.

Did anyone else think that whole sequence with Jack's grandpa seem odd and completely out of place? Kind of like that whole Jack Tattoo episode?

It had one purpose and that was the shoes. But, introducing a character as a deux ex machina to Jack finding a way to make Locke like Christian on the plane was a poor decision. The entire scene was out of place as a result and it looked it.

I know he grabbed the shoes from him, but Jack could have just as easily had a box of his dad's personal effects back at his apartment that his Mom could have given him that he was prompted to go through. A potential 30 second scene turned into a ton of filler from what I can tell.
