As much as it seems it's headed in that direction, I would be disappointed if that's how Lost ended. Everything just being undone like it never happened? I mean, I can take a bit of it because that's basically the point now. They need to save the Island and being in 1977 has some reason for this. So they are undoing something. But, if it were something like "It was just a dream" kind of deal, then that would be stupid.

Well its not going to be like a dream where it never happened. It happened and they'll have the memories of it, but the consequences to other people will not have happened. Again, just all speculation.

Or Faraday is going to go Butterfly effect on everyone and foul things up over and over again. I'm not sure why he is trying to move the donkey wheel. Seems like his best chance at saving Charlotte now that he's back to a point where she is a child would be to guide her actions. Unless he's trying to sync up their ages so he can get a little sumpin sumpin. Charlotte is Faraday's driving force, right?

Here's the other thing I wondered. Sawyer & Jin, etc. have been at Dharma for 3 years, 1974 to 1977. And the other Losties were running around the outside world for 3 years. So its not like time is standing still while they are back in time. But are they aging on the island? I would say they have to be. But I'm not sure.

I hate Jack. I'm glad Sawyer owned him.

The one thing I don't like though is how half the show is turning into 'power play' type thing.
Between Jack and Sawyer and then Locke and Ben.

Who wants to guess that Faraday is "Jacob"?

And every episode I'm more and more convinced that the Losties are the original inhabitants and they're stuck in a loop.

One thing that bothers me though. Shouldn't Ben wake up and remember his meeting with Sayid?

Another thing to consider. Who's to say the skeleton found in the VW Van way back isn't Jack?

The skeleton they found wayback I thought was Ben's Dad, he gassed him but didn't throw him into the Pit.

I don't think the Losties are original ingabitants of the island. I mean Jin's English has improved dramatically since he's been with Dharma between 1974 and 1977. If he was in a loop he'd have known English at the plane crash.

Yeah he should remember Sayid. What makes you sure he doesn't?

Faraday being Jacob is quite probable. He's getting close to understanding how the island works. I am sure he's trying to manipulate outcomes. They better have a good explanation of the existance of Jacob. I can almost understand the smoke monster if its used to rectify discrepancies in the time continuum. But strike that, they don't have to explain anything....A wooden wheel is used to transport an invisible island through time and space.

Yeah, please don't make a ton of filler episodes rehashing the power struggles on the island between Locke & Ben and Jack and Lafleur. We get that already.

And for the love of god, Ben is starting to seem like a cartoon character. He gets beaten to a pulp in every episode. How many lumps? Oh three or four. They should just have the Acme Anvil fall from the sky.

When did this happen? Or are you speculating?

Way back during the season 3 finale, Sawyer and Juliette are walking back to the beach and Sawyer asks "why the others made Kate and him break up rocks? What where they building? And she replies "a runway.", he asks for what, she replies that she has no clue. So I'm assuming Ben, Richard or Jacob knew that 316 would land there in the future and told them to build a runway for it.

The episode even had a huge title card that said "30 Years Before/Ago" when they jumped from Sun on the Island to Jack and company on the Island.

So remember when Sawyer was talking to Alpert after the hostiles killed that Dharma guy......

OK if Sawyer told Alpert about everything that had happened with the time travel the freighter and everything else, won't that alter everything going forward now? Is Alpert still going to tell Ben to eliminate the Dharma?

Why was Dharma eliminated? I can't remember if they said, but they must have violated the Truce. Ben was bitter over his father so he had no problem with it. But the Hostiles weren't hostile as long as the truce was there.

The thing is now, there are too many people who know about the time travel and the future events if things remain the same. There are too many agendas going on. It will make for some real interesting TV. Because independently 1 person could alter the future in a way to fit their needs, but with this many hands in the pot, things will get crazy.

at the same time though, there is a massive amount of time between where they currently are and the purge. I would have to say that the events of now, if anything may or may not cause the purge. We know that jack, sawyer, kate, ,etc were not on the island when the oceanic flight 815 crash, except when they crashed. there werent 2 jacks running around,etc at some point between where they currently are and 2004 they either left the island or died.

A few questions I have:

Where the heck are Rose & Bernard?

Why is Ethan's last name Rom and not Godspeed? (I assume it could be Amy's maiden name)

How can Jin speak fluent english in 1977 when he couldn't in present time?

How come Kate's name was not on the updated list but Jack's was? I think Juliet may have purposely assigned her to a job that is nowhere near to where Sawyer is working. The picture that Christian showed Sun had Kate in blue overalls just like Juliet, and Juliet is a mechanic.

I'm assuming Sun was not at Jack's dad's funeral? If she was, wouldn't she have recognized him from pictures and so forth at the funeral?

When Christian showed Sun the picture from 1977 did anyone notice the front door open? What was with that?

According to the theory, if say you are 28 now and travel back to 1977 ... you will still be 28, but your body won't start aging until you caught up to 2009.

I think this leads to the possibility that Richard may be from the deep future.

It didn't alter anything because this is exactly how it happens over and over again.

I like your theory that the smoke monster corrects anything that shouldn't happen.
It didn't stop Sawyer from telling Alpert about anything. And it hasn't prevented the Losties from trapsing all over the 70's.
That's why I like my theory that these events have happened before and are stuck on a loop forever to repeat themselves - in one form or another.
The fact that they built a landing strip for a plane 3 years into the future proves it.

But as far as the Dharma group and Hostiles fighting, some of the Dharma group obviously sided with the Hostiles because Ethan was working with the Hostiles long after Ben had them all gassed.
Ben obviously started a movement that involved more than him to take care of Dharma.
And it's entirely possible that Sayid helped start the thought process in Ben's head.

Its hard to get your mind around but if there are multiple universes springing off different paths. The fact that Charlotte died and then they went back to a point where she was alive again would lean toward there being multiple alternative universes, however, I am not sure thats where the show is going. But if it does, there may in theory be 2 or more universes that exist.

But its more likely 1 because when something happens in the past the people in 2007 seem to remember it in real time. What we haven't seen is if someone gets killed in the past what happens if they are running around in 2007? So if Sayid Killed Little Ben, what would be the immediate result to the Ben in 2007?

I would imagine Brain Hemorage and bloody nose.
