Great books that should be made or remade into movies

This is from the Dune prologue extended version. The 1984 movie was bad but the feel and look was outstanding. I really think they should remake this classic story including the back story in the prologue and make it a 2 or 3 story trilogy.

As the Crow Flies by Jeffrey Archer would make for a pretty good sprawling epic movie. Here's the overview of the book and characters:

Sideway Stories from Wayside School and The Mouse and the Motorcycle.

I'm interested to see how The Road turns out since reading that book was so freaking depressing and very intense.

I would love to see Finn (and a serious Huckleberry Finn film adaptation) make its way onto the big screen. That is a great book.

I believe the rights to this book has been bought out in Hollywood and a film will be in the works.

Crime and Punishment - Many film adaptations exist but they are all garbage. You know what... never mind. Everyone should just read the book

I would recommend everyone...not listen to this recommendation.

Crime and Punishment is probably my least favorite book of all-time. Incredibly long, incredibly boring mainly due to its length, mediocre, at best, story, etc. About half the book could've been cut out and it would've been at least readable. As it is, I would recommend you stay away from this book, and only read it if one of your teachers/professors makes you.
