True, but how many older movies do you know? I say right now it is Star wars, but the reason I would give it to Star wars is becasue of the newer ones that came out. I know Scarface is big with my students. They all know that movie.

        More then you

I readily admit i'm in the minority as I watch a ton of TCM. Most of you guys making the case for movies of the last 30 years have a point and although I don't agree I can at least appreciate it.

You sure about that? I taken classes on old movies is Jr college. I was actually pretty good. I love the comedies with Harold Lloyd. We watched every movie you could think off there.

That is why I say it is subjective.

Tried once when I was 8 years old, then when I was 15 and then just a couple years ago. I just can't get into that movie AT ALL. There are some nice scens though especially with HAL. So it has that going for it.

I loved it until the end then it was a big WTF mess for me, but I've only seen it once.

I was thinking to myself that if Wicked is ever made into a film, then the Wizard of Oz would be it.

The name might ring bells, but in the under 35 crowd, I doubt more than 25% could give an accurate depiction of the story. GwtW is culturally irrelevant in 2008.
Well, yeah. If the thread title was "Most Well Known Movie Among The Under-35 Crowd", I would've given a different answer.
