The spawn of the XM Sirius fusion emerges tomorrow, and Orbitcast has picked up the complete channel listing for XM subscribers that goes into effect in
Kinda 1 step forward and 4 steps back for me..........
I get NBA play by play but real hip hop took a big "L" (no pun intended) with the loss of XM 65 the Rhyme and XM 66 Raw. R.I.P. XM 65/66.
Tried to get a brief sampling of how they do things on Shade 45............ a healthy amount of 2Pac off the Pac album with Eminem's fingerprints on it, of course a generous dose of 50 Cent, T.I.'s "Whatever You Like" and an afternoon show that will have to grow on me to say the least...........
Hip Hop Nation seems like the City, basically.............. Rick Ross/Nelly, Soulja Boy, the Carter........... all that "good" stuff.
It's unfortunate that they had to downsize from 4 Rap/R&B radio stations to 3........ and it seems like Shade 45 and Hip Hop Nation are going to have a lot of overlapping content.
Looks like I'll have to stop being lazy and bust out the iPod for my music fix in the car now.
Still gotta pay extra for the NFL talk and games and stuff...........
If I didn't get this subscription as a gift, I would seriously consider canceling........... the deal is pretty good for the shareholders, though...........
Favorite Teams:
NBA: Houston Rockets NFL: Tennessee Titans MLB: Chicago White Sox NCAA: Florida State Seminoles
So are basically Sirius and XM almost the same yet?
Meaning if I get XM for baseball can I still hear NFL and NBA from Sirius?
The way it is right now you can get football and the NBA on XM but not baseball on Sirius. It is suppose to be worked out soon... I hope.
I am disappointed though. You have to pay extra to get the XM package. I was hoping it would all be integrated into one package for the same price that I currently pay. Not so. That sure wasn't the way it read when the talk of this merger was being first negotiated.

That does sound disappointing. Think I'll hold off a bit more towards christmas to see if they get things worked out. Could probably find some crazy deals towards Christmas time.
damn, I just noticed no old school hip hop. That doesn't make sense. "The Rhyme" on XM and "Backspin" on Sirius. I was hoping Backspin would be added as it is better than THe Rhyme.
The new lineup sucks, I hate the Sirius stations that took over for the better XM ones. No Ethel, No Lucy, no Squizz, no Boneyard, no Rhyme, no Flight 26...
This merger has pretty much been a bait n switch in terms of the PR for it. Instead of us getting a true merger XM and Sirius stations which was what they were hyping.... we've gotten crap.
Has anyone looked at the so-called "ala carte" programming options?
