Great film and great acting by Rourke. I still think Sean Penn in Milk was the best acting performance Ive seen this year but I wouldnt mind if Rourke won the Oscar/Golden Globe for this. The fact that he trained like a wrestler and took real bumps and cuts like a real wrestler was also amazing.

One more thing, If my wife looks as good as Marisa Tomei naked in her mid 40s, I'll be a happy man.

Im sorry but i just can't go see a movie called Milk. Its not gonna happen. they should give the oscar to Rourke by default.

And i can't wait to see Marisa in this. I need to find me a fit chick man, most these girls are lazy. lol

So yes... Marisa Tomei is freakin' amazing(ly hot) in this movie. For a 40+ year old woman, she puts many half her age to shame. I really enjoyed this movie. Mickey's best movie in a while. He still plays the scuzz-ball better than anyone in hollywood, although this might not be a stretch. But I was very impressed with his scenes with this daughter... very real, very touching, and both actors hit a home run. Overall a very good movie. Pacing might be a little slow, but that fits with the overall theme of this movie.

Great review. This felt like a legit documentary. The stuff with the daughter was real. It had me kinda pulling for Ram, I felt for the characters.

Marisa Tomei is damn fine, I don't care how old she is, that body's killer. Her, Diane Lane and Famke Janssen are tops on my over 40 list!

Great movie though, it sucked me in and as a wrestling fan it felt legit. I thought it'd be good, but I didn't expect how awesome it was.

I didn't like it as much as everyone else (I'm not a fan of wrestling), but I did find the last half hour or so pretty "powerful"

Very good movie. The story is predictable and its a formula we're all used to (with wrestling thrown-in) but the performances from the actors and director involved really elevate this piece. Just minutes into the film I felt like I watching Randy "The Ram" play Randy "The Ram," which is perhaps the best complimant one can give to an actor.

Honest review?

One of the best movies I have seen in as long as I can remember. May not be the most exciting, may not be the most action-packed, or any of that...but I haven't felt this emotionally drained after watching a movie in awhile.

Wow just wow...all I can say.

One of the best movies I've seen in a LONG time.

Rourke absolutely friggin' owned this role, it's true when everyone says that there was no other actor out there that could've pulled this off like Rourke did. Nic Cage? Are you kidding me lol?

Rourke had every element of the character nailed to a T.

All the matches and wrestling content were startling spot on and very true to life...watching what goes on before and after the matches and show as really interesting to watch.

Just a great movie all the way around, def. goes on my all time list.

Pay the money and go watch it in a theater when you can you "scurvy scoundrels." Worth every penny. One of the best movies I've seen.

It was released in Boston (Cambridge technically), so that's how I saw it. Film success is most often credited to box office success, so I agree, go see it when it gets its wide release if you're just downloading it now.
