Re: The Wrestler
Saw this today, thought it was pretty good. Rourke was great and Tomei was/is gorgeous. I didn't exactly like the ending but understood why it was done the way it was.Comment

Re: The Wrestler
I just finished watching this movie and have to echo the statements made by others. Great acting, a smoking hot Tomei, great directing, great story. Of all the movies and performances potentially up there for awards I think this is in my top 3, just a fantastic emotionally charged movie. I felt it all watching randy the ram go through his struggle. I hope rourke gets the oscar as well.Last edited by ASB37; 01-18-2009, 01:42 PM.Go Yankees

Re: The Wrestler
Mickey Rourke's appearance at Wrestlemania has been cancelled but here is footage from Larry King the other night....Jericho looks ready to throw down right then and there.

Re: The Wrestler
Mickey Rourke use to be a boxer (dont really know if he was talented) but I would love to see him throw down with Jericho.Last edited by ezekiel55; 01-29-2009, 05:42 PM.Comment

After the long road back and being recognized once again as a player in the industry his agents realized he doesnt have time to do work that is beneath him.Comment

Re: The Wrestler
hopefully jericho was just playing his "role" and acting out. first of all, rourke is like 60 years old or close to it. second, not sure what world jericho thinks he is from, but it is FAKE. just because you are a professional wrestler and can ACT like you know how to fight, does not make you a fighter. even at his age, if rourke had any skills when he was a boxer, he'd probably out point jericho in a boxing (gloves on) match...Comment

Re: The Wrestler
Wrestling is fake but no question Jericho is a legit tough dude. He also whopped Goldberg's behind in a back stage confrontation. Jericho was being a clown in that interview but no question he is a tough dude.Comment

Re: The Wrestler
I actually find it funny that people think Jericho is actually being anything BUT in character in that segment.
Couple of things that make it incredibly obvious:
1) That's his character, currently, and has been for awhile. He's arrogant, he's cocky, he'll talk down to anyone and he thinks (as he says in the interview) he's the best in the world at what he does. That's Chris Jericho, that's Y2J, that's his WWE character.
2) If it was a completely true, legit, non-acting interview on his part, there's a good chance he would've used his real name. Since he was still acting, he was still playing a part, he's still Chris Jericho and not Christopher Irvine.
3) They were asboutely trying to set something up for Wrestlemania. That was the goal: to have Rourke fight Jericho at Wrestlemania. As we all know, that has since been cancelled by Rourke's agent (rather wisely), so the entire interview is pretty much null-and-void.
I'd be willing to bet that if Jericho and Rourke met face-to-face they would be nothing but smiles and have nothing but respect for each other. Hell, wouldn't even be surprised if they talked before/after the interview was on air.Comment
