Yeah, I watched the bonus features and they mention that King Kong Bundy and Tony Atlas are still wrestling at indy shows for something like 100.00 per night, thats sad within itself. They also have a round table discussion between The Hammer, Beefcake, Piper, DDP and Luger that was somewhat interesting.

Side note for anyone that knows, what happened to Luger? He mentioned being paralyzed at one point but over coming that but at the same time he looks really thin in the face.

He had a spinal stroke. He recovered (but needs a walker) and has gotten off of drugs (which is why he's no longer huge) and is a motivational speaker now.

I watched it again over the weekend and it was great the 2nd time too...just a stellar movie, and if you like wrestling it makes it even better.

What's a spinal stroke and is it caused by steroid use?

I can't believe Mickey didn't get the oscar for this. I'm not sure if it's worse that 94 but still...

I just watched this on Sunday and really enjoyed it. Very good movie.

Rourke was good but I think you guys and others overhyped his performance. I think Tomei was infinitely better at her performance.

Evan Rachel Wood is not a strong actor when it comes to emotional scenes. Just wasn't convinced. I think she's great when it comes to giving the awkward, silent treatment and feeling betrayed. She did a good job of that in King of California and that is evident in The Wrestler. I like her and she'll get better in expressing anger in the future (it's not easy to express).

Anyway, while I liked Rourke's performance and he was The Ram, I don't really see how it was mind blowing Oscar winning.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I watched it a few months ago and thought it was an excellent movie. I loved the scene where he is in the grocery store walking to the Deli department to go to work and you hear the music and the crowd in the background like he is getting ready to walk on stage at a wrestling match.

And Marissa was hot in that movie. Shes still got it.

Yeah I think it's an amazing movie. Probably my favorite movie of '08.

I slept on it for awhile and rented it on Netflix a few months ago and was amazed. Great movie, great story, great acting just everything was done well. I'm now a proud owner.

I agree, that part was awesome. Once he walked through it was like reality hit him straight in the face.
