    The Killers: Day and Age

Being a huge Killers fan, I just wanted to get some various opinions on the new album because I am hugely disappointed. Hopefully the songs will grow on me, but right now there are only maybe 4 good songs with "spaceman" being the only great song. Sawdust is better than this album.

I am also a huge killers fan that will be giving this a listen soon. Between spaceman and human i've been a little underwhelmed but they have grown on me.

I heard one song at the gym and thought it was new Coldplay.

I loved their first album. Didn't care for Sam's Town. Most reviews have poo'd on this one, but their description of it really interest me...a real synthy-80's vibe. I'll get a song or two on Itunes. On a related note, Depeche Mode is wrapping up working on their early '09 new album and it will be a must buy for me. The same producer as "Playing the Angel" and Rolling Stone reported that at the beginning of recording... Martin Gore went out and purchased thousands of dollars of "old school" keyboards and synthesizers to recreate that 80's/early 90's vibe. Me likey!

All the reviews I've read have been glowing... What are you talking about Laettner?

Anyway, I just tried giving it a listen but found it boring. That's probably one of the worst things that can happen when it comes to music/movies. But then again I didn't really care for Sam's Town on my first couple listens but then became one of my favorite albums.

I think I just need to give it some more time. It sucks that neither of their last two studio albums (I don't really consider Sawdust a true album since it's a bunch of b sides) haven't trapped me in as quickly as Hot Fuss did.

I actually have read good reviews as well...I loved Sam's Town more so than Hot Fuss but what I've heard so far on Day and Age is mixed. Some really good songs and some so so songs...I think I just have to give it time and it'll grow on me.

I read alot. So I can't remember exactly what sources dissed it. But I did find one, Blender magazine as it was right next to my computer. They gave it 2 stars (out of 5). " The Killers wander the map, not finding what their looking for." Hey man, I'm not hating 'em...I loved the 1st one, and told you I'm interested in this one, just the first couple of reviews didn't sound good. Maybe the other source was SPIN...just can't remember..but the first two reviews I read were..blah.

I was big on them after Hot Fuss too, but since then I just can't get into them....has a little to do with the vocals for me....
