Well, sure, you can run a hard wire to the router. But the point is that maybe there's an alternate way for your 360 to go wireless via your laptop?

        Re: Wireless router

OK, before I go and confuse myself (I think I already have), let me see if I have this straight:

        I can either:

        A. Get a longer ethernet cable and run that from my modem to my 360.

        B. Buy a wireless router and get the the Network Adapter.

        C. Buy a wireless router and get a USB Adapter (not sure how this one works, though).

        Is that right?

Oh, and one more thing, for my DS, do I need anything else aside from a wireless router to go online?

        Thanks for the help.

if you buy a wireless router, you can run a cable from that to your 360. And the internet on your computer will still be working. You don't need the network adapter or usb adapter unless you don't want to run a cable from the router to the 360.

            Re: Wireless router

I had a lot of trouble on wireless playing sports games online. I wasn't far away at all either. If you have to go through multiple walls it could be a problem.

It's just a regular ethernet cable, right? I actually have an extra one of those, so that's the solution I'm hoping for.

                    Re: Wireless router

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread but I too have a router question. Which one is better for gaming and general internet use?

This one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1202648529060 or this one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1194054018722? The first one is 40 dollars on black friday and I was wondering if it would work just as well as the other one.

I have the Linksys - Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router with 4-Port Switch I love it . I do a hard boot on it and my surfboard cable modem every month for maintenence. Just something I've always done.
