Got to go with "Wall-E" for best picture this year (not just best animation). I chuckled all the way through at the innocence of Wall-e. Just a wonderful movie.

Westerns are all but nonexistent in these polls. There is the chance that I missed some.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
        Silverado
        Pail Rider
        Unforgiven

        But woohoo Tombstone made it

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)
Blazing Saddles (1974) Yes I know it's a comedy and possibly the funniest movie I have ever seen!

Crap I voted Petrified Forest (?) which is right above Platoon

Might be too late so maybe for the next poll; Saving Private Ryan and The Good, The Bad, The Ugly I would add to the list

I don't mean this to be smart. But you're the first person I've ever met that liked that movie. I couldn't get out of the theater quick enough for that movie.

It's cool that you liked it, I've just never met anyone who has.

                  Overall - The Dark Knight
                  Comedy - Dumb & Dumber

And by the way how can you have 40 year old virgin up there and no Wedding Crashers? they were Rivals at the box office, Wedding Crashers would be my 2nd choice for best comedy behind Dumb & Dumber but thats just me...

Just looked up The Petrified Forest since I accidently voted for it over Platoon, sounds better than I thought it'd be. Humphrey Bogart and Bette Davis are in it, came out in 1936.

It's a VERY good movie. Very theatrical but it has the pacing of a motion picture of the period. The movie also launched Bogart's career as a leading man.

A Thin Red Line is not just a great film but a work of art, not just a war epic, but a profound look into the hearts and lives of men, it causes the viewer (at least this viewer) to contemplate ones own life and to judge it's significance. Visually stunning, some of the best cinematography I have ever seen, the soundtrack is awesome as well. I would suggest giving it another try. Admittedly it is not for everyone.

SPR was great for the first 30 minutes other than that, I don't get the attraction yawn

Good idea doing it this way. The only suggestion I would have is extending the time frames since you are up against a holiday weekend and some guys may not be logging into OS who would normally look at something like this.

I'd suggest now that we take the top 64 vote getters and 'tournament' them too a winner.
