Bad year for hip hop? It's been a great year compared to the past few.

Finally some people worth recognition and the money from their work getting their due: Ludacris, Nas, Atmosphere, Royce 5'9", Ice Cube, The Roots.

Then those guys who are mainstream creatting some great albums: T.I., The Game, Rick Ross, N.E.R.D., Young Jeezy

                Great year for hip hop

On Topic my 10 favorite albums:
                1. LAX- The Game

                3. 808's and Heartbreaks
                4. Bar Exam 2- Royce
                5. Theater for the Mind-Ludacris
                6. Untitled-Nas
                7. When life gives you lemons... - Atmosphere
                8. Trilla-Rick Ross

                  Young Jeezy - The Reccession

Ill give you that, but its still underperforming overall, the last 5 years or so around the time Lil jon got big hip hop has been a joke, a few hot records here and there but not like it was.

NERD is not hip hop either, Seeing sounds while better than their softmore album still nothing compared to thier Debut album.

And this is one of the best years hip-hop has ever had.
