to be fair, the point of the OS tournament is to pick the best movies in the eyes of OS...so if a member is going to vote between two movies, and they have seen one and like it, and haven't seen the other, i don't see why they shouldn't vote just because they haven't seen the competition.
I didn't see anything where the OP said it was your favorite movie. This is a comparitive competition.....as in which one is better. You can't judge if one thing is better than another with no frame of reference on one of the things being judged.
It's like saying a Snickers candy bar is better than a Milky Way when you've never had a Milky Way.
It's impossible to make a comparison.

Never seen warriors, so I gave my vote to Star Wars. Although, having seem the movie somewhat recently because Spike and some other channel was playing it over and over for weeks on end, it's definitely not that great, either. The dialogue is downright ridiculous at times (I never noticed it before, until I payed attention), and there are some really cheesy sequences.
That said, I've never seen Warriors - so I voted the one I have seen.Comment

I had to with Star Wars...groundbreaking effects and a merchandising beast.

I love people who say they've never seen Star Wars movies. They're like people who don't own televisions - all of whom do so solely for the purpose of being able to say, "Actually I don't own a television" when someone starts talking about something they saw on TV.
Anyway, Star Wars wins partially because it's the far superior film, but also partially because like Johnny said, it was groundbreaking. Probably the most groundbreaking film released in the last 41 years. It shaped the film industry for years to come in so many ways and became a part of our culture like no other movie has since. To get an idea of how friggin' huge the release of Star Wars was, check out the "Empire of Dreams" documentary on the DVD Special Edition set. It's great.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.
