    Historical Non-Fiction Books

I've been thinking about picking up American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House since the author was on The Daily Show talking about it. I came across this "article" on the 5 Most Badass Presidents and got me wanting the book even more. I went into Barnes & Noble to pick it up, but it was almost double the price Amazon has it listed for so I picked up Lies My History Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Text Book Got Wrong instead.

Anyway, long story short, I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for other great historical non-fiction books? I would liked to pick up a George Washington bio, Teddy Roosevelt bio, and anything else that would be interesting to read.

I suggest anything written by Doris Kearns Goodwin. Her book on Lincoln is being made into a movie with Steven Spielberg directing.

The John Adams bio by David McCullough is definitely worth the read.

I had no idea Adams played such an integral role in the founding of our nation until I read the book.

Stephen Ambrose's (Band of Brothers) "Undaunted Courage". All about the Lewis and Clark expedition and Thomas Jefferson.
