Tough choice, but I have to go with The Matrix. It's funny, my then girlfriend and I saw this movie and just laughed our ***es off at the seeming absurdity of the film, and then we decided a few weeks later to see it again and then talked about the damn thing for two hours after.

Definitely a memorable theater experience...much like The Sixth Sense, with the whole "whoa" feeling.

IMO Matrix is more overrated.

At least the Matrix didn't win best picture on a farce.

Platoon is a complete joke of a movie. Hollywood would rather sell out the post-WWII people that protect this country than make a movie that pays them any kind of tribute.

I thought it was more gritty and realistic than entertaining so I'm probably in disagreement with you. I have friends that served in Vietnam (I'm actually a Vietnam era veteran...TECHNICALLY) and they validate it's depiction of life over there. It's not like bravery wasn't displayed in Platoon. It wasn't a sellout, just a different world and a different war and no Incarnation Of Evil (Hitler) to rally everybody.
