    The Matrix is one of the best movies of all time.

    The trilogy on the other hand...yuck.

        The Matrix is my favorite movie ever made. In fact, I am gonna go watch it right now.

        Same, when I saw, it's all I thought about for like the next year. I don't think I was able to close my mouth from the time of Morpheus telling him about the real world and the end. I bought so many different bootlegs trying to get the best copy in between the time it was released in theatres and released on dvd/vhs.

                I know enough Vietnam veteran's that think Platoon is a bunch of garbage as well.

                Just as with Gulf War vets and Jarhead and OIF vets and Generation Kill.

                    Ive heard the same, especially from the father-in-law, who had some pretty grisly experiences there.

                    With that said, Id hope we judge the movie on its own merits.
                    and by that I mean; dont judge it 'cause its historically inacurate propaganda from Stone, judge it because its not a very good movie.:wink:

                        My uncle spent 2 or 3 tours in Vietnam and he can't stand Platoon as he also thought the movie did a **** poor job.

                                I love both movies, but the Matrix is truely great, especially after you look into the symbolism of the whole thing
