    PS3 controller question

I thought these things self charged as you were playing (hooked to the USB cable)???

I get a message that the battery is low and to connect it to the USB port, even though it's connected. Playing on line the red light went out on it and it said my sixasis controller was disconnected? My other controller is flat out dead.

Am I missing something, or do these controllers need replacing. Bought the PS3 at launch.

    thanks

Try plugging it again and let it sit. See if it charges. If nothing happens, go out and get a new dual shock one.

This is my only beef with the PS3.

      Re: PS3 controller question

i had a similar problem with mine and discovered it was the connection with the wire (can't remember which end was the problem, think it was the end connected to the controller). I went out and got a new connection cable and that solved my problem...

Check the cable or also try hitting the reset button on the bottom of the controller (tiny pinhole).

          Re: PS3 controller question

I've had two PS3 controllers malfunction which irritates me. One of the controllers the R1 shoulder button is always pressed, so it is pretty useless. My other controller's motion controls don't work anymore, so it is still usable thankfully. The only one that works flawlessly is the DS3.
