I just dl'd Chrome, and it is actually even faster than IE. Never used FF before, but I'm digging this Chrome as of right now

I've been using FF since 2004/2005, somewhere around there.

FF user here with IE View add-on.

I downloaded Chrome last night and while it does indeed load faster than FireFox and uses a fraction of the resources. The fact that it doesn't have an adblocker kills it for me.

I have used it for about a month or so now after hearing about it and reading up on it a little. It is noticeably faster than both FF and IE. Some pages act weird in it, but they are few and far between and if (hopefully) Chrome's market share grows it will get developed for a little better.

Google said their goal with Chrome was to make it so the user forgets their even using a browser. The bar at the top with URL, tabs, bookmarks, and options is much smaller than IE and especially FF, leaving much more room for the actual page. My computer runs very slowly and its performance is noticeably better with Chrome than with FF.

I am a big fan of the "home" homepage which allows you to basically select as many pages as you want to choose from and it will give you a preview of the page before you click on it. As well as a list of recently viewed pages. A feature I don't use too often but I can imagine others would is the Incognito window which will not save any cookies, browser history, etc. You can choose to open any page Incognito.

There is no AdBlock which is a pain but there is an integrated pop-up blocker which is kind of annoying because it blocks windows that you want to open as well. But they're very easy to access after one click. Google has said that once Chrome is out of beta they want to open it up to development for something similar to the add-ons Firefox offers. Which I'm assuming would include something like AdBlock.

All in all, at this moment in time it might be a better browser than FF, and it might not.. but I'm pretty certain that eventually it will be far better (once it's out of beta) so I'm getting used to it now. I really do like it.

I use IE, FF, Opera (to a lesser extent) occasionally as well. For some reason I have all three of those plus Chrome downloaded. At this point I am using Chrome almost exclusively. So take that for what it's worth

I guess this IE story made the rounds pretty quickly today and MS put out an immediate patch.

Thanks for the info on Chrome, Chef. Sounds intriguing, but I think I'm passing for now until they open it up and someone develops an AdBlock equivalent. Pop-up blockers that I have to manually configure really annoy the hell out of me.

Really liking the sound of Chrome's unobtrusive and streamlined nature, though.
