    converting itunes music to mp3

Hello everyone. Got a question. I recently bought some music off of itunes and of course the mp4's you buy are copy protected. I would really like to convert them to mp3 so I can use them on my Creative Zen M mp3 player. Does anyone know some good conversion software to use? I would appreciate any help given, Thanks.

As far as I know you can just burn them to a CD and then rip them off that CD...that'll remove the DRM.

Thats what Ive done, but I stopped getting MP4s from Itunes a while ago.

Ive got some nice conversion software that lets you turn anything that plays on your PC into mp3s

You can also use a sound recording program like Audacity and record the M4P song as it plays through iTunes, then save the recording as an MP3 and put that onto your MP3 player. Saves money on blank CDs.

There used to be a program with which this conversion was automatically done for you, but Apple hit them with a cease-and-desist letter if I recall correctly.

I think you can actually convert the song using iTunes itself. Try going to Edit>Preferences>General>Import Settings then change 'Import Using' to MP3 encoder. Then go ok, find your song, right-click then create MP3 version.

              ^^^^^ that doesnt work....

I stopped using Itunes a few months ago, and you should too. Use the Amazon.com mp3 store. The songs are 320 kbps(high quality) MP3's, no DRM, and every Friday they have 5.00 albums on certain albums which would still be 9.99 on Itunes.

completely agree, amazon is alot better for buying music and a lot of the top albums of the year are $5 like you said

wow, really, I hate I missed that. I wanted to but that album but didnt want to pay the full price for it.

Anyway, every chance I get, I tell people about Amazon instead of buying from Itunes. Sure the buying experience isnt as cool(ie no program with cool colors, other bells of Itunes), but you get your song, in high quality, and NO restrcitions.
