"Colbert," "Spongebob" may go dark on Time Warner

Media giant Viacom Inc. said its Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and 16 other channels will go dark on Time Warner Cable Inc. at 12:01 a.m. Thursday if a new carriage fee deal is not agreed upon by then
The channels that would be affected are: Comedy Central, CMT: Pure Country, Logo, Palladia, MTV, MTV 2, MTV Hits, MTV Jams, MTV Tr3s, Nickelodeon, Noggin, Nick 2, Nicktoons, Spike, The N, TV Land, VH1, VH1 Classic, and VH1 Soul.
    ****. You. Viacom.

Viacom is a bunch of thieving bastards. They are already nickle-and-diming us, and now they want to steal even more money. I usually side against Time Warner on these issues, but I'm behind them for this one. If I lose the option of watching Colbert and Fresh Prince, I will be furious.

I think this "almost" happened with Dish Network a year or two ago.

      Update:

It's already started. I already have a ticker on Comedy Central saying I'm losing the station.

If this happens, I'll barely watch any tv anymore. Sports and one or two other shows would be the only worth while things on tv.for me. Well, I just hope it doesn't happen.

came here to post this. Just saw the ticker while watching
          TV. That would defiantly suck.

WTF. My bill says Time Warner, but my cable box is labeled "Comcast". I'm confused as to which one I have, I'm pretty certain it's Time Warner though.. fffffff

I totally blame time warner...their service totally sucks. I've had a terrible experience with them.

Usually I would agree, but this time it's Viacom in the wrong. They don't share their profits of the content they put on the internet, which is the same that they put on television, and now they are telling Time Warner to pay even more for the television content.

                It's horse****.

Are you positive about that?? Because I see the text rolling on all those channels. and I am positive I don't have Time Warner.

The channels are rolling the text, not your service provider.

Oh, I guess I was wrong then. I thought it would only show up for people with Time Warner.

I'm happy to have Comcast... just hope Viacom doesn't decide to pull this with them.

Can someone explain exactly what Viacom wants more money for? I don't know what "carriage fee deal" means.

I have Cablevison but the ticker comes up on my t.v. I seriously hope this doesn't happen to me.
