 Re: Direct TV

Right now their offering 29.99 for all regular channels + HD channels + all the sports stuff like nba tv, nhl network, the soccer channel, speed channel and all of that stuff. Seems like a good deal but I want to know if they have good internet service and if installation is easy.My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment

 Re: Direct TV

Whatever you do with DTV...... get it in writing. Make sure you are not inadvertently signing up for more time on your contract than what they are saying. If you are getting anything other than their standard service, you can almost guarantee you are signing up for more that one year. I know a lot of guys here are okay with them, but I'm not. I think they are poor at spelling things out and they have many lawsuits and grievances on their hands.

If it works for you, great, but I would not simply take their word about anything.Comment

I'm pretty sure that stuff is on there too. I only listed the ones that I remembered. On the ad there are around 30-40 sports channels on thereMy latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment

I saw some things like that on the internet when I was searching for reviews. Is there a way you can cancel your service and void the contract if it doesn't work out?Whatever you do with DTV...... get it in writing. Re: Direct TV

No way. They will hold you to it. And they will tell you that just by clicking on the site buttons you agreed to this service. If you do get an install, don't simply sign the form the installer gives to you. While he's doing the install, ask him to read the form that he is going to get you to sign. If he won't do that..... that's shady.Comment

 Re: Direct TV

I didn't like Direct TV because I couldn't get the local networks. Not Fox 9 (although I got the Fox News Channel), and I didn't get (and don't hold me to this as I switched to cable a year ago and can't remember specifically) ABC, NBC, I think it was. I had to use rabbit ears (which didn't work) to get these. I watched the Chargers with rabbit ears and it sucked. They would not give me a waiver either, as I tried.Comment

 Re: Direct TV

You can check if they have your locals on the website. They most likely have all your locals and in HD unless you live in a very small market.

Check out dbstalk.com, they have any info you would need and will help you out with any questions. I won't every go back to cable. They have there problems, but they are nothing like cable and most problems end after the install is done.Last edited by p_rushing; 12-31-2008, 07:08 PM.Comment

You can't lump all cable companies together. But DirecTV has problems nationally.Comment

 Re: Direct TV

 A few more questions.

 1. Does direcTV provide the internet service mentioned in some of the packages?

 2. Does said internet come from the dish or is it line based? My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment
