For starters, this is his daughter, not a child he was to bodyguard.

Second, Denzel just oozed cool in that movie... no matter what the hell was happening, in the trailers I've seen, Niason seems a bit crazed in his approach.

That line Liam gives about when he threatens the kidnaper is actually pretty intense

Saw it and the first half of the movie was average and as much as I like Liam, the dialogue from him didnt sound natural at all and sounded like he was reading from a script. Once it gets going though I think it gets good and I enjoyed the second half of the movie much more then the first.

I finally saw the trailer today... looks pretty cool. I don't expect it to be a great film or anything, but should be a good action flick.

My wife said it 3 times while we watched it, the acting is painful.

I like the movie a lot, but the overall acting is just...bad.

Eh, I didn't see anything wrong with the acting for the most part, I don't know, I don't usually expect action thrillers to be filled with great acting. It seemed pretty standard for an action flick. Movies like Bourne Identity raised the bar, but they aren't standard. Anyway I enjoyed the movie a lot, all the way until the end, which I thought was pretty damn terrible. My wife and I were loving it until then.

I mean, this girl just got kidnapped, drugged, sold on auction, probably raped at least once, her best friend drugged, raped and killed, and she goes back home to be a pop singer? What the hell? She would have been extremely traumatized, singing pop tunes would be trivial after all that. Also, for me, the mother, step-father and daughter just didn't seem grateful enough for me. They all should have been down on their knees mouth washing his balls for the **** he went through to get his daughter back. They say thanks and offer him a ride in their luxury car.

Except for that though, I enjoyed the movie. Reminded me of back in the days when I used to watch those Steven Segal type movies about one man wrecking crews, out for justice and all that stuff.

I don't know how, but every time I saw this thread, I mistook it for "Awake."

I saw this movie some time last year, and loved it. I'm not sure if I'll buy it, though... it's one of those movies where every new turn coming can only be refreshing so many times.

The only hard part with these kinds of movies is that nobody, even the bad guys, have a crystal clear outlook on everything he had to do to get her back. For all we know, Kim could assume he just flew there, interrogated the spotter, jumped on the boat and shot the buyer in the head, whilst the mom and step-father could just assume he simply found her walking down the street somewhere.

It's just a shame, you know?

I'm interested to see this movie, but I'll probably wait to dvd. First time I saw the trailer, I was intrigue and some the complete trailer online and seemed pretty good.
