    quick iPod question

I've only recently purchased an ipod (8gig nano) after using some other generic ones for years and have a quick question.

I had my itunes loaded with my music (about 7 gig worth) then my parents came to visit and my father thought he'd be nice and add his new kings of leon cd to my itunes. Anyway i don't know how he did but now my itunes only has the KOL cd listed and none of my other 1000+ tracks.

Is there a way to connect my ipod and have it upload to the songs onto my itunes rather than it being the other way round? Maybe i'm just SOL and will have to load all the tracks again.

When i connect my ipod it seems to want to remove the songs on the ipod and replace them with the KOL.

Any light you could shed would be great....

The songs should be stored on your computer. Or is that not how iTunes works?

I hate programs that try to auto-sync your stuff. I had my Zen Micro plugged in charging, I opened WMP and it loaded 3 custom saved playlist of my friends of girly songs automatically. Also loaded like 50 sample songs.

You can set the Ipod not to autosync. It's in the options. You can also set it to sync a certain playlist, etc.

There is a way to sync your ipod to the itunes library (in case all of your purchased stuff got deleted). Just don't let it remove anything from the Ipod because then you're obviously hosed. Unfortunately, I can't remember where the option is to sync from the Ipod right now. I know it asked me specifically one time when I moved my Itunes folder to a different drive on my computer. When I did that, the purchased stuff was no longer there and I got a popup asking me if I wanted to restore the purchased items from my Ipod.
