    Advice....which one would you choose?

Have to get a new computer and here are my choices.

    1. HP A6647C-B, 21.6" screen, Nvidia GeForce 7100, Vista....$799.99

    2. HP A6667C-B, 24" screen, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100, Vista..$849.99

Those are my only two choices. You guys know a lot more about this stuff than me and I appreciate your feedback.

I'd rather have the graphics card than a bigger monitor. 21 inches is still freakin' huge. Graphics card doesn't only help with video games, but also with other video memory, so it's not a burden on the normal system memory. Is the graphics card 256mb or 512mb?

I'll have to check. I thought a specific graphics card had the same specific memory.
Never heard of a "media accelerator" before. And yeah, both the monitors are BIG.

Depends on what you're using it for. If you're playing games and stuff, you'll want the better video card (though I suppose you'd also want the bigger monitor). But, if you're just surfing the web, and watching the occassional video, then you don't really need a powerful video card.

Can you tell anything from this, as far as RAM?

Real-time ray tracing, AI-powered DLSS 2.0, and programmable shading.

              I'm assuming this is it.

I can't tell anything from that regarding the memory of the card, but I suppose I don't know much about each individual video card. Someone else may be able to help you though..

The integrated media accelerator is like a video card but it's built in the motherboard. Advantages include lower power consumption and noise, but on the downside it might not be as powerful as a legit graphics card.

Jim, is the computer going to be primarily for gaming or office/work tasks?
