    Copyright laws

What are ways, besides getting written permission from the studio, to use music "legally" in a video?

I have a super lame basketball video that has been up for 11 months(only 1000 views....), and just recently it was muted by Youtube because of a claim by WMG.

If I just give credit to the artist, record label and all of that does that change anything?

No. You have to get permission from the copyright owner even if you give him/her credit. The only way to get around that is a fair use argument (creating a parody of a song, using it for educational purpose etc.)

They are getting everyone at least. It's Had a Bad Day by Daniel Powter. I guess they didn't like his song being used for had a bad day videos, but then again they should realize without those, no one who have ever known who he was.

      O well
