That'll let you stream video files...try it out, works great for me (it's how I watch downloaded stuff on my regular TV)

Nice... I could never get that stupid Windows Connect thing to work and recognize my 360.. hopefully this version will work better. I don't use WMP for anything, but I could start if it let me play my entire MP3 library through my 360 instead of having to hook up my 4GB MP3 player.

I don't use it for anything either, but you can keep using other media players and just set WMP up to look at the same music folders. I only have it for the streaming stuff (movies, for me), and I just have it point to folders I put all my movies in.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Most of the players stopped that annoying thing where it imports your whole library or renames your songs for you by default.

Hopefully this will work for me -- your 360 just has to be wired to the same router (or on the same wireless network) that your computer is, right?

TVersity Media Server is a DLNA media server software designed for streaming video, audio and images to your DLNA device (including game consoles, smart TVs, Blu-ray players, and Roku), to mobile devices and to Chromecast. TVersity Screen Server brings screen mirroring to the big screen, it is a DLNA media server software designed for mirroring your PC screen or playing your PC audio to the same devices as above.

Re: Looking to Stream Video from my PC to 360

I cannot get any of these to work. I'm on a static IP, have my PC and 360 wired to my router, forwarded the port required for TVersity, and nothing... Any tips?

Doing it via WMP just doesn't recognize my 360, as usual. Via TVersity, the server is up and running but it's not detecting my 360 either -- do I need to set the 360's IP address manually in the TVersity settings?

Annoying.. never have any luck with this. Also, I have a Linksys BEFSR v5 router.. if that makes a difference.

I got Windows Media Center to work awhile ago but now whenever I try to connect with my laptop it either restarts or just shuts down(windows media center).

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Check the tversity forums. Try turning everything off, unplug the router for 15-30 seconds, then turn the router on, let it startup, then turn the laptop on, make sure tversity server is running, then turn on the 360. Also there are some settings you can switch that may get it to work.

Tversity works flawlessly and you don't have to port forward it.

Just install, select xbox 360. Save the options. Turn your 360 off.

Restart Tversity - Then log your 360 back on.

Go to Your blade where it says video and select your PC.

But you have to have a Folder selected on TVersity that you want to host the video in.

                      Exp. c:\program files\documents and settings\user\My Documents\My Videos\

save it. And all videos saved in that folder should stream to the 360.

I believe so, but I haven't tried it. What you would need is the rss link for the video.

You can do it with PlayOn, but you will have to pay.

Man, this thing will not work for me. I've restarted my CPU, router, and 360 about 15 times trying to get it to recognize. I chose 'XBox 360' from the list in the settings of TVersity, but my 360 doesn't detect my computer. I went ahead and forwarded a bunch of ports just to be sure but nothing has helped. My UnPNP is off on my router (which I read is supposed to help), but neither my PC or 360 detect one another -- I tried via WMP 11's sharing interface as well.

Just not meant to be I guess.

You might want to try a different version and also make sure that you don't have any firewalls running on your computer. I also couldn't get it working and sometimes it would stop working for me. I did get it working, but can't remember what I did.
