    HDTV Help.

So I'm gonna pick up a new TV soon. Gonna sell my 32" 720p Westinghouse and I'm looking to pick up something bigger. I've already started my search and I think I have narrowed it down to two. I'm looking to spend $800-1200.

Here are the ones I am interested. Feel free to recommend something else that you feel I will have interest in.

I'm leaning towards the Samsung, and probably picking this up too.

Sound system I'm looking at $200-300.

All information and advice is appreciated. Thanks!

these are all 50" or more, i didn't check shipping but they all also looked to be less expensive than the two you mentioned. hopefully you can find what you want, good luck!

which Westinghouse model did you have? I actually had one that crapped out on me that was actually one of the better quality HDTV's I've seen. I forgot the model number off hand.

How are you looking to sell it?

The 1080p LCD Vizio looks nice. Samsung is a $100 dollars less and I can pick it up at Best Buy. I don't know.

        Thanks for those options though.

I don't know it exactly. Got it from Best Buy about two years ago. Doesn't have the DVD combo. I have really lliked it though the entire time. Love the auto sourcing, hahaha, I'm lazy.

I've got a couple of friends looking into it. Why? Interested?

            Is 120hz important?

That's the one I probably had then.

I'd possibly be interested, but you should probably just go with friends there's way too many problems with delivery, etc. But that's a good TV, even a year later after buying a Samsung 32 and an LG 32, that Westinghouse was the best picture I had.

Of the HDTVs you listed, I'd probably go with the Sammy. Do you have a blu ray player or PS3? If so, you might want to increase your surround sound system budget to get something that can handle the high definition sound.

I'm not a fan of HTIBs because the speakers tend to be just above mediocre, but if I had to get one it would have a receiver....not upconverting DVD player. That way you can have surround sound with multiple sources (tv, cable box, 360, PS3, etc).

                Available at Walmart:
                $190 Sony HTIB http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=10199392

                $168 Pioneer HTIB http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=10191115

IMO, I'd go with either of these before the one you listed (The Sony subwoofer is twice as big as the Pioneer). Then go over to monoprice.com for as many optical cables as you need on the cheap and call it a day.

                Good luck.

Sam's Club and Costco's had the 47" 120hz Vizio for $999, I don't know if its still that price or not.

I would recommend this tv over the ones you have listed.

                    Panasonic TH-50PX80U $899.

Co-sign. If going plasma I'd start the search with a Panasonic.

I've bought all my tvs from www.vanns.com - free shipping and no tax means they will beat best buy by quite a bit. My first HDTV I got a couple of years back vanns beat best buy by $800 (paid $2100 and it was $2800 at best buy + tax).

You really should check them out if you want to save money. Also, they ship fast, you will have your tv within a week.

Not saying that. If I were picking among the ones you had listed, I'd go with the Samsung.

However, the Panasonic that I listed above is better than the 3 you listed... plus it's cheaper.

FYI, if anyone is wanting a 42", Sears has the Panasonic 42" for $599.
