    SiriusXM filing bankruptcy

Lovely, glad I canceled. They are raising all the rates, charging for online listening, and now this. C-ya satellite radio.

Gee, you'd think a Sat. radio service would be almost recession proof.

Lol, I don't think they are obligated to honor his last two years if the company disbands. So, thre hundred mill plus shares of Sirius stock lol!

Not good...I don't think I can go back to regular radio after having XM.

Well the owner of Dish Network bought a bunch of their debt a few weeks ago, he might want to keep it alive or just get the satellites.

I think that they will live even if they are bought out by Dish TV

It's an unnecessary luxury. No one needs to pay $17 a month to have radio in their cars. I dropped them due to the new Sirius stations suck, music sucks now, and they have too many DJ's babbling. Not to mention they are going to charge to listen online now. Forget it.

When I called to cancel though, they offered me everything under the sun to stay a member. Full year for $77, then it was a full year with best of Sirius for $77, then it was 3 years paid in full for $179. Blah blah, I kept saying no. Glad I did.

It's all relative. It's a good deal, but not when I'm not enjoying the product. For example, I have now twice, heard the exact same song on the way into work, and then 10 hours later on the way home. Twice since the first of the year, both on whatever took over for Squizz. In 2 years of having XM, never heard the same song twice in a week.

I'm sure others have, but I didn't, that's my point.

And if I want to hear DJ's babble, I can listen to regular FM for that.

I just hooked my ipod up in my car, with the 3,000 songs on there, with shuffle, it's the best radio station I could ever have. At home I use Pandora and shuffle. So I'm good.

I truly don't expect SiriusXM to be in business by the end of the year either, which further my decision. Not going to pay 3 years for something that won't be around. There is no way they can recoup their debts. Raising rates is just driving people way, check out sat radio forums, people are canceling left and right, as they should be.

Meh, that's the same logic my wife employs when she buys worthless junk, "but it was on sale."

Me neither. My commute is over 2 hours every day. I would literally lose my mind if I had to listen to terrestrial radio.

I'm in Canada though so I wonder how this will affect XM.ca.
