    Wachowskis, Superman Trilogy??

Hey folks, Harry here Ballack has been a reliable and constant source of geek rumor news online for many sites, including AICN. This time he's come in with a big one. Now, these are the sorts of rumors that only time confirms, because when...

If true, great news to me. I loved the Matrix series and really really really enjoyed Speed Racer. I went into it with an open mind and came out impressed as heck. Found it more entertaining than Ironman actually.

With Superman, they have more of a concrete source material, and get to use their imagination to do something different and unique. Personally, i'm hyped now

Note: Also liked V for Vendetta

Wow, I think it's great news.

The W bros might be the best at pure action today. They also are good with the whole "dark" theme (V for Vandetta.) Which is the direction WB wants to go with the Superman series because of the success of The Dark Knight and Batman Begins.

    Very good choice, imo.

They're not 'bros' anymore... more like siblings.

I like the "realism" idea coming into play, but remember that Batman is at least still on a physically realistic level, something that Superman can never be.

As long as a great writer writes it, there's no question these guys can do something great.

Someone at Warner Bros. should get DC on the line and get Geoff Johns already.

I'm not sure how I feel about this possibility. The visuals would be great, but the story/characters might be flat as hell.

Well, at least we know how Superman will turn out...

I don't know either. I liked the first Matrix, but most of their stuff since has disappointed. This would either be great or a total failure.

meh. Supermans just a boring character, I dont know who could spice that story up to a watchable level.

Just keep Brandon Routh as Clark Kent / Superman and the John Williams score.

He's not that boring if you explore him emotionally and mentally. He's a person trying to fit in a society that is beneath him. He's restricting himself for the people he wants to protect. There so are many ways to spice Superman up.

Another good thought would be the thought on Jutisce. I know Superman is a boy scoutt. But what would happen to if someone killed Louis Lane or put him in a situtation where Supe could no nothing but (kill) this individual.

Superman is no Batman, but putting him in a situtation like that would break him. Imagine how his image would be tainted as well as he himself would be devasted at his actions.

I'm not sure if many remembers but in Superman 4, there was a point where he was broken, he didn't know if he could defeat Nuclear man and doubted himself. A doubting Superman would be a great emotional ride.

However the movie would also HAVE to require action of course, Returns fell short because it lacked action. Then again, who could go toe to toe with Superman???

I personally think the best way to do this would probably be Brainiac. A super computer that is trying to create a body for itself in the shadows. They can even include good old Lex. Lex has created this superman AI that he is no longer in control of.

This A.I. (i.e Brainiac) starts trouble and creates itself a body stronger enough to go toe to toe with Superman.

As much as every one here wants to see Darksied on screen, i doubt that will happen. Brainiac and Metallo are probably the best realistic options for a villain strong enough to fight Supe

Some would say that 'exploring Superman emotionally and mentally' would be the height of boredom....

I wouldn't mind seeing the whole "invincible to anything but kryptonite" bit dropped.
