In what decade would you liked to have spent your teens?

Based on what you've read, seen or learned from those who lived in a certain decade, which one would you liked to have spent your teen years (so figure between the ages of about 14 to 20) as an alternate to the one that you did and why?

i went with the 50's .... i would have gone the 30's or 40's, but WWII was looming or taking place ... not a fun time. the 50's just seemed like a much simpler time.

Well I grew up in the 80s.
the 30s + 40s were filled with strife and war. the 60s had hippies, and the 70s had disco.
So I'll go with the 50s.

50s had to be pretty crappy..all that post WW2 propaganda..man the gov was really controlling the American lifestyle then..F that noise...the 20's and 30's might have been cool...they were a time of great social change..almost like the 60s. but they didnt have much technology...the 70s were okay...but Disco sucks and so did that decade's cars...I still maintain that the only thing good to come out of the 80's was me... so Im left with the 60s..a time of great social change...cool cars...good music...some technology...
free love...different drug culture...yes I would definitely go with the 60s..

Probably late 80s(1987-88) to early mid 90s(1993-94) just to experience first hand the music, culture, styles were like as a teenager.

the 90s were all about the three G's. Grunge - Gangster rap - Gay(as in homosexuality) Im sure that the gay population increased by 550% during the 90s

Edit: also.. the late 80s early 90s marked a transition in education style as well...

I would say either the late 80's-early 90's or the 1960's. The culture of those two times would be great to experience IMO.

My teens were late 90's-early 2000's, and it sucked.

I said the 50's, but that's not because of some idealized "it was nicer then thing" but rather because I would want to be a young adult during the early 60's jazz scene as well as the craziness that followed from '64 forward including the civil rights movement, the psychedelic age, etc.

And the legal drugs... pre-Harrison Narcotic Act. They also had the polio, so you take the good with the bad.

I was in the 80's as a teen. It was great. Break Dancing was at a all time high and the 80's music was pretty good too. Guys pinning their jeans around their ankles to make them tight. Oh yes what decade.

that is hilarious b/c in the 90s guys would wear the baggiest jeans they could find...and if they were too long they just folded them under and stapled/pinned their own hemline for that day. haha then as the kids got bigger they would undo their hem and have a white line around their ankle where the fold used to be...classic.
