No doubt man. There is no way I'd go any further than the 70's in this country as a black man, given the choice. That ish would've been a little too heavy for me. I cringe when I hear the horror stories from my parents and other older kinfolk and I liked them white girls when I younger. Bad business.

Still I'm satisfied with spending all of my teen years in the 90's. It was a great time for me. I'd do it all again.

I'm also Japanese so if I would've grown up in the 40's I would've been thrown in an internment camp.

Oddly enough, I'd choose the 90's (as opposed to the 00's that I actually spent my teens in). During high school football, I had 5 wins and 15 losses in two years. I felt robbed because, as a little kid, I got to watch two sets of kids make runs at District and State championships.

In 1995, we won the WPIAL (the most prestigious district in Pennsylvania High School football) and also made a couple of nice runs in late 1990's as well.

I'd love to go back and be a part of that.

The 70's all the way. I grew up in the 80's and honestly I didn't find it all that amazing. The 60's I might have ended up in Nam or something, the 50's....NO. I just feel sorry for those in their teens during the nineties with all the boy bands and crap.

Co-sign. Was a teenager in the 90's. Wouldn't like to have gone back any further than the 80's.

Being black, nothing before 80s and it's not up there. And in my situation being a black teenager in the 90s was like being in a warzone with crack and other drugs being dumped in the community.

I was a teen in the mid-to-late 90's, if anything I'd just want a 5 year bump so I could have been a team in the early-mid 90's and remembered some of the hip-hop/NBA/college basketball better than I did (do).

Why would you want a simple life? This is an honest question. I have no idea what appeal there could be in living a simple life.

To me...Simple life=Ignorant life.

I experienced my teenage years through the late 80's/early 90's.

I would have like to experienced the 70's since it seemed like all the good music was during that period. Growing up on hip hop music most of the beats from hip hop music during my teenage years came from songs from the 70's. And listening to my dad play those same songs on vinyl records I always had an admiration for 70's music.

I can get behind that.

Don't forget if you picked 50s or 60s you may very well have been drafted,and the US was in war from 50-53 and 65-72.

The way I see it, it's more of a question about the era than the things that really happened back then. You can say that in the 30's there was recession and in the 40's there was WWII going, but to me it's about the atmosphere/culture/thechnology etc.
At least that's how I see this poll...
