    Mac question

I need a good free virus scanner for my mac... I got sophos through my university but it doesn't seem to do anything at all... I've had it for awhile and it doesn't seem to work, so I need to finally make sure my computer doesn't have any viruses. Any good free downloads?

there are no viruses that aren't user-executed for OS X, you don't need to worry about an anti-virus program

One of the huge reasons you buy a Mac is that you DON'T need any of that crap. No spyware, virus, trojan blockers, NOTHING, you're not in PC land anymore, surf away.

I use a program called "Main Menu" . It's not a virus program but it may help.

after you install it, you will see an icon for it on your top toolbar. Just click on it and select "Execute Batch Tasks" and it will run. Edit: you may have to go into the preferances first and check mark everything under "Batched Tasks"

Un-install any of that additional crap you put on your mac. Make sure your software is up to date, click on the apple in the upper left hand corner. Have it check for updates daily.
