    Scaried silly

Is something i havn't been in years. I used to love watching horror films, but now it seems like most of them are very predictiable and corney. I never got into the Saw franchise because i wanted to be scared, not to watch someone torture someone esle.

I'm itching for a movie that can truly give me goosebumps. Then again it could be that i'm too old to be scared by movies now........ I seen a trailer for this new movie called "The Haunting in Connecticut." And since i live in good old CT, i figure it should be an interesting movie since it's based on a true story.

The movie is going to be PG-13 but that shouldn't stop it from being scary right? If anyone here knows some good horror movies, speak up please. I adored the Child's Play movies growing up. First saw it when i was 9 and have admired horror movies with killer dolls etc.

And no, i don't want a slasher or torture movie but a real horror flick. Anyone have any good ones?

I'd recommend 1408 or The Uninvited. Both aren't abnormally scary (esepecially The Uninvited), but they actually contain substance. You'll be engaged in the main character and the "scariness" is in the mood of the story.

Granted, 1408 is still much more mature than The Uninvited, but both cap off pretty solid endings IMO.

And I also can't ever stop recommending The Ring or The Descent (which is rated R).
    Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60

I've heard mixed reviews on 1408 but if the story is pretty good and the mood is eerie then i'll give it a shot. And i forgot about the Uninvitied. I'll give that one a look at as well.

      Thanks a lot

1408 had a few scary parts and 1 of them actually got me, but it was just a weird movie otherwise. The females were scared many times though.

I recently watched 30 Days of Night and found that it kept me pretty scared/on edge throughout the movie. I don't scare easily either and grew up watching horror movies. I rarely find any actually scary, but thought this one was pretty good at delivering. I also enjoyed 28 Days Later.
