I'm totally with Timmay on the surprise about Bill only being mentioned on a few lists... pretty amazing to me, but I guess he's already been forgotten in favor of newer comedians. The fact that someone mentioned freaking Denis Leary and not Hicks hurts my soul... Leary is a hack and stole everything he ever did from Bill while delivering it worse... hatehatehate.

I think the lack of Hicks is he is from an earlier era and didn't have the exposure others did at the time. The other thing is that he could be political inflammatory and could turn some people away from his favor. That's just my 2c. Plus, we're not just talking standup comedy.

It's sad that more people haven't been exposed to Bill Hicks. He died right before he was going to break into more mainstream.

I heard rumblings that there is biopic being made on Bill and that Russel Crowe is starring. If true, that's a great fit (I can see Crowe really pulling this off) and it would help get Bill Hicks more of the attention he deserves/deserved.
