    Top 10 Action Scenes

Well… my Top 10 action scenes anyway. <O</O
I've forgotten a few, I know, if not many, so throw in what you feel I've missed or your own. <O</O
    Remember: scenes not whole movies.
    <O</O
    <O</O
    10. Saving Private Ryan: beach assault Visceral and moving. The most accurate depiction of warfare put on screen, according to those who where there. Terror, violence, and above all bravery. <O</O
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_y1YL9C8Hfw<O</O
    <O</O

    9. Untouchables: Train station shoot-out Slow paced, but tension filled and beautifully filmed. <O</O
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIvg-pnjjmM<O</O
    <O</O

    8. Matrix Revolutions: hanger battle The sci-fi equivalent of Private Ryans beach scene. <O</O
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tiRi959Ba4<O</O
    <O</O

    7. Aliens: colonist settlement attack “There's movement all around us man!” “Your not reading it right!”<O</O
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_34U9zqHlPc<O</O
    <O</O

    6. Blade II: final battle Blade vs. Nomak If there's a better one on one fight scene I haven’t seen it. And I'm pretty sure I’ve seen 95% of ‘em.<O</O
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifKxlJr5wv4<O</O
    <O</O

    5. Equilibrium: ‘not without incident’ Can Kurt Wimmer direct the next Batman? ‘cause on the kick a$$ scale Batman-Bale isn't in the same league with Grammeton Cleric-Bale.<O</O
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbP2djP0h5g<O</O
    <O</O

    4. Kung Fu Hustle: the beast vs. The landlord & the landlady Leave your anti-kung-fu movie bias at the door. Each fight ups the ante over the previous ones, but the penultimate battle between the 3 masters is the best. <O</O
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTJi3b1yMl8<O</O
    <O</O

    3. Heat: Street shoot-out the ultimate manifestation of ‘cops vs robbers’. <O</O
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6HHr_R6Tg8<O</O
    <O</O

    2. Hard Boiled: hospital shoot-out The one that changed how action movies are made.<O</O
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OPyoJgV_YY<O</O
    <O</O

    1. Matrix Reloaded: highway chase This is why I go to the theater. No matter what you think about the Matrix sequels, no one can argue that the Wachowski brothers cant put together an incredible spectacle. And this is spectacle of the highest order. <O</O

      Great list.

I don't have the time to scrape together a top 10, but I can give you one...

The remake of 3:10 to Yuma with Bale and Crowe teaming up and trying to get to the train at the end was intense.

Road to Perdition: Tom Hanks, unseen in the darkness, guns down the entire gang who was with Paul Newman and finally Newman.

It was pouring rain. There was little to no sound. The spark of every bullet leaving the Tommy Gun was the only thing visible of Hanks.

        Re: Top 10 Action Scenes

I'd have to go on how they impacted me...

        First Blood
The ending scene where he takes out the town. I remember thinking, blow the place up, they did you wrong. He goes crazy and then is sitting there sobbing. Not a bad scene.

        Terminator
The famous "I'll be back scene." His character had such a badass tone and you wondered how exactly they were going to take him out.

        Lone Wolf McQuade
Final fight between Norris and Caradine

        Mission Impossible
I think there are several scenes from these films, and I think Cruise does great in them

        The Godfather
The scene where Michael is over the baptism and hits are being carried out. The baby crying, the Priest chanting the prayer in Italian and the going back and forth, just excellent.

That's all I have for now...
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I can't get the youtube link, not sure if it is out there, but a older movie I like is KING OF NEW YORK , 1989 or 1990, with Christopher Walken, Lawrence Fishburne, even a pretty good performance, IMO, by David Caruso.
there is a shootout/car chase scene that I have always liked. I will maybe post a little later with the specifics and try to find a link.

Another I like is a mid 70's movie THE SEVEN UPS with Roy Scheider. quite similar to the French Connection. A really good car chase through Bronx, Uptown NYC, and No. New Jersey.

King of New York is a classic.
and Im not sure but I think the 7 ups is a semi-sequel to the french connection.

For me, I don't think I'll ever see a better fight scene. Part 1 of 2 is good, too.

Something I've always liked about Kung Fu movies is how during a fight scene, one will be dominating the fight and then the one losing makes his first full contact shot. It's sort of a sign of what's to come. This scene pulls it off nicely.

I love the Matrix, and agree with the car chase scene, that was great. That hanger battle was just cheesy to me though. I would have put the final fight in part one and the one in Reloaded where Neo fights all the Smith clones in the park.
                        PS: You guys are great.

I love the burley brawl as well, but some of the bad CGI keeps it out of my top 10. but it'd probably make my top 20-25, which would be packed with kung-fu movies:
final fight from Avenging Eagle, 8 diagram pole fighter, the first and last fights from Tai chi master, Donnie Yens and Jet Lis fight from Hero, final fight from Iron fisted monk.......and on and on...

The action/cat-mouse sequence at the end of Enter the Dragon has always felt badass to me, especially when Bruce Lee wipes blood off his stomach with his finger and licks his finger clean. Just flat out badassness in that scene.

Another good one is the shootout at the end of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Nothing fancy, but the camera work was amazing and did an excellent job of building up to a fantastic climax.

Not really an action movie, but that's the first one that popped into my mind as well. The music sets it up really well too.

I don't really watch too many action movies, but I always like watching the fight scenes in the Jackie Chan movies.
