Looking for a song (no real description)

Basically, I can remember like a few notes in my head in the chorus that would make you think that maybe someone like The Who, Bryan Adams, Journey, or Rod Stewart sang it, but I think it's too popular for me to have searched through all of their popular songs to not find it. I don't know any words in the song nor can I really even hum out that part, but it's a nice high pitched kick-up in the song for at least that one moment.

I also tried Pandora to even find other potential artists that this band could fall under, and nothing close enough for me to start digging into their songs.

Maybe someone could help me out here at least with similar sounding bands? Thanks.

Wow I'm not sure it's possible you be more vague. Not unless you were like "Dude, I totally heard this song one time and it's in my head...what is it? name some songs!"

LOL! Yeah man, we really don't have much to go on considering how many songs there are out there.

I still can't wrap my head around the The Who, Bryan Adams, Journey, and Rod Stewart connections.

Where did you hear this song?

LOL I knew this would be tougher than I thought.

Tell ya what... someday I'll find out what it is, and when I do, I'll come back to this thread and let you know. I'll even let you know what part rings in my head when I'm hearing it.

              One Night Love Affair-Bryan Adams
              Don't Stop Believing-Journey

              That's my two guesses.

Record yourself singing the notes you remember.

Someone will figure out what song it is, and the rest of us will get a good laugh.

LOL Knight what I meant was that it isn't any of those guys/bands, but it's gotta be something that sounds like them.

Anyway, I'm not at a computer where I can listen for it, but now I'm thinking the song may be Right Now by Van Halen. I know that song much more by its beginning, not everything else. But yeah, I'm thinking that's it. It's that "What's left ahead, what's left behind" line.

You were pretty close with Rod Stuart.

LOL all I really meant was that he's got some pipes, and some of his songs remind me of how this song is sung.

Anyway, now I definitely think it's the song I was thinking of.

I will guess Santana and the song is Winning.

Why put it off another day?
                              One by one, little problems
Build up, and stand in our way. Oh

One step ahead, one step behind it
Now ya gotta run to get even

Miss a beat, you lose a rhythm
An nothin' falls into place. No!
                              Only missed by a fraction
Slipped a little off your pace. Oh!

The more things you get, the more you want
Just trade in one for another
