    SAW VI Discussion - Jigsaw

We are about 6.5 months away from one of the greatest horror franchises (hopefully) coming to a close.

BTW, I placed Jigsaw in the thread since OS search engine doesn't allow search on 3 letter words.

Found this interesting (could be spoiler):

UPDATE: We've found out some brand new info, which you can read all about inside! A piece of news we've been sitting on for quite some time now is that

    Interesting.

Though as excited I am for this movie, I have not been the least bit involved with anything Saw since the release of Saw V on Blu-ray. I mean, I've watched it maybe eight times now, but I haven't been active on House of Jigsaw since maybe November, and I have not been looking at any news at all. I honestly know nothing about this next movie, and I'll try my best to keep it that way (though I did look at the article). I assume it's best to have no spoilers walking in.

Though I don't think this character is as integral as everyone makes it out to be... but I just hope this doesn't happen for the worst.

I think it's the best of it's genre. They may not be my favorite movies, but I know what I'm watching when I put in the DVD. I don't expect it to be thought-provoking like typical Oscar movies. I don't expect to be scared like most horror films try to make you feel.

I think it's more about this character and the efforts he takes to teach people a lesson about life. I expect nothing more.

I don't agree with people that say the movie is too disgusting or gory and because of that it's stupid. I mean, the movie is supposed to be that way and the people that watch it are expecting that. Just because that's it's genre, doesn't mean it's stupid.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Some of the later Saw movies are cool IMO largely because they have Betsy Russell playing Jigsaw's wife. I hadn't seen her in anything since 'Private School' in which her performance brought me much enjoyment as a young boy.

                  the first one was amazing

                  the next 4 were not

I find it almost pathetic that they make the movies year after year to be released on the same date simply for profit

haters. Have you guys actually seen some of the movies that have come out recently? the Saw series puts 90% of them to absolute shame.

SMH. If you're not a fan and have nothing to contribute to a thread, you should stay out or just not reply, IMO.

Looking forward to this. Sure, its not an Oscar movie, but it's enjoyable, and that's all I need from a movie.

I watched Saw V over the weekend and I should have watched IV again before that, because I was so lost. I would have posted in that Saw V but I couldn't find the thread.

Kind of funny how this thread became loitered with hate.

That's why GearsX8 put "Jigsaw" in the title this time around.

Saw V is luckily so linear and slow-paced that you didn't get lost in a fuzzy story with a jumbled story. If you went in watching Saw IV with no history, just forget about it. With that said, it may take you a viewing and a time of reminisce after to completely collect what happens in Saw IV. It's just that weird, and it's just that poorly made. Much like Quantum of Solace, actually...

But Saw V still stands as my second favorite (Saw III, Saw V, Saw, Saw II, ... Saw IV).

I like the story these tell, and the horror aspects..Just a cool change of pace from most movies I watch.

And come on guys, it's not like horror movies in the 70's, 80's, or 90's were amazing stellar oscar winning works of art. Horror movies create franchises and are cheesy at times...You make it sound like Saw is doing something new with its formula.

Honestly, I think these are better than a lot of horror movies because they have some sort of plot and try to tie together prior movies...most horror movies use the formula laid out by Jamie Kennedy in "Scream"
