Metallica is in town to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. The local rock radio station is located in an office building across the street from mine. Apparently, the band is going to play a free show on a flatbed outside the radio station at 6PM. It's too bad I'm going out of town or might have stayed to watch.

You might still be in luck, even though you're going out of town. Years back, Metallica played a free show here in Philly in the parking lot of the Wachovia Center downtown. You could hear it from miles away.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

When I was in HS they played at the fairgrounds and it too could be heard from miles away and lead to a whole bunch of new noise ordinances in Essex, VT.Comment

Yeah that is cool. When I was a kid I went to see them a lot. They played under some other name, so their friends could hear them play. I can't remember the name, but my brother was friends with them and we grew up with Kirk. They still rock if you ask me.Comment

FYI, this never happened. Some moron DJ in Cleveland stated it was going to happen, he was wrong and had a near riot outside the station because of what he said.Comment
