Cheap but good place to order car audio equipment online?
Just comparing Crutchfields prices to the local stores and they are no longer cheap, in fact Best buy and the local stereo shop were the same as Crutchfield. I'm looking to buy some Boston Acoustics speakers for my car and wondering if anyone can recommend a reputable, cheap place to purchase online?Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

I decided to just go with the local shop, dropped 3K on a killer system tonight (all rockford fosgate/boston acoustics). Can't wait to try it out next week.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

I been going to Ikesound.com for years. I get mostly alpine stuff, it has been from experience for the cleanest sound.
You probably spent way too much going locally. Good thing is that they hopefully gave you warranty on the service.
Yeah never go crutchfield, its a ripoff.Comment

One nice thing about going local is a lifetime warranty on troubleshooting the system. Also the parts & labor is 5 years, not 1 or 2.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Cheap but good place to order car audio equipment online?
I liked Crutchfield back before Ebay and other auction sites. They used to offer a 4 payment plan so I was able to get more gear at once. I've bought several component speakers and car stereos.
They were the only retailer around that carried the gear I was looking for. It seemed all the local car audio shops carried three brands, JBL and Pioneer, Sony and JVC. Needless to say I wasn't impressed. They had good install instructions and I did most work myself, only thing I hated doing was drilling a hole in my fire wall to run amp power.
Nowadays I just go on Ebay and I use Crutchfield as a resource for equipment ideas.
I despise the local shops because of outrageous install prices and poor workmanship or sloppy cabling. I awlays ask to see what they are working on first and see if they have pictures of their installs. If they don't have a book to show off a good install you may want to move on.Comment

The system is just crazy clear and insane loud. Oh yeah, they also were able to override the "can't watch a DVD while the car is driving" restriction too which Best Buy said they would not do. They mounted a tiny switch to override it.
When I went to pick up my car the guy spent about 30 minutes or so with me explaining how everything worked (especially all the aspects of the Pioneer stereo's workings) and answering all of my questions. I was very happy with that and felt it was great customer service. Oh and I did check out reviews from some people at their site but more importantly from all over on other sites and just asked around about their reputation in general for the last couple of weeks. They seem to have a great reputation and I think I can see why.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
