Someone hacked into my email address book?

Has anyone ever had an email sent by an unknown user, appearing to be you to your entire address book?

Earlier today, I had the following message sent to everyone in my address book (including me) with the subject "Hello!":

    Hello!
i would like to introduce a good company who trades mainly in electornic products.
Now the company is under sales promotion, all the products are sold nearly at its cost.
They provide the best service to customers, they provide you with original products of
good quality, and what is more, the price is a surprising happiness to you!
It is realy a good chance for shopping.just grasp the opportunity,Now or never!
    The web address: www.mvttn.com

I have no idea how this happened or what the heck this is and I still haven't clicked on the link. I was just inquiring to see if anyone else had this or something similar happen to them. Strange.

You didn't mention what you use for email.

    It appears you're not alone.

Man. No kidding. There are a ton of reports just doing a Google search on it. I don't like the looks of it.

FYI - I use hotmail for personal email.

Sounds like a virus rather than a hacker. A lot of viruses attach themselves to your address book and send themselves out. The emails will look like they are from you so your friends will open them. Then they'll get infected and so on and so on...
