    State of Play

    Excellent movie. Just got back.

Crowe, Affleck both are great in the movie. Affleck is the perfect image of what I think a young politician looks like.

Getting 80% on RT. Check it out, you'll enjoy it.

I saw that Pitt and Edward Norton was suppose to play those parts, but had some other things come up. Glad it is was still good. I will check this out.

i read that one might have a problem believing the story since crowe and affleck are quite noticeably different in their ages...did anyone find this to be an issue? i'd like to see this movie, but our local paper didn't give it a real good review...

That's just a minor annoyance. Nothing that would throw the story out of whack.

sounds good...i can get past that pretty quickly. appreciate it!

also, does this movie have a political agenda behind it? if so, i don't want any part of it...just give me a movie, not someone's politics.

This movie looks interesting. I think i'll see it sometimes as I like political movies though sometimes you have to wade through the agenda at times with movies like this but it's a minor annoyance to me.

              Nope sure doesn't.

Not a mention of Republican/Democrat in the entire movie.

The only thing its preachy about is the downfall of the newspaper business... which in reality isn't really preachy so much as it is the truth.

Damn good movie. Pitt and Norton would not have fit well for these roles. I don't know why people hark on Affleck... he's been pure gold for the past five years in the movie business. Rachel McAdams is frickin' gorgeous beyond belief! There's a nice cameo thrown in there as well... typical for this kind of role, might I add. I must say though, I would have liked to see Clive Owen play the part that people who saw the movie know I'm talking about.

I don't know if I can watch it enough that I'd be compelled to buy it, but I'll rent it for the folks.

Great movie. Thought-provoking. Loved Bateman's character.
