    The Spirt

Literally just finished watching it, i was about to stop 10 mins into the movie and start to watch The Uninvitied. However i managed some how to continue with it and finish it through.

I must say, it was enjoyable. It recieved a lot of hate disregard so i was expecting a sucky movie. Truth be told it certainly wasn't great. But i think thats what the director was going for. It was almost comical in many instances, never took itself serious at all. If you end up watching it with an open mind like that, then it's enjoyable. The commericals portrayed it as another Sin City which it certainly wasn't attempted to recreate

The scenary was awesome as was the style. And of course it had beautiful ladies which was great as well.

Watched it and thought it was average at best, they did a terrible job linking this to Sin City so heavily as a lot of people probably went into it expecting one thing and getting another then not liking it because of that. Its not a movie I will ever watch again though but it wasnt quite as bad as what others have said in the media.

I've heard it was terrible from everyone I know that has seen it.

However, I still want to see it so I'll probably get it shipped from Netflix sometime to see how bad it is myself.

It was terrible. Only thing good about it was that it had no shortage of lovely women to look at.

Glad this was a $1 DVD kiosk rental. Very underwhelming

Saw the trailers for this in the theaters and it did nothing for me.

            - WTF with SLJackson and all the big guns, looked stupid to me.

            - Eva Mendes, I know it's just me, but she looks better "normal". With all the makeup/warpaint..I don't know, she looks worse.

            - Didn't have JAlba dressed in a leather "cowgirl bikini".

-Overrall movie just looked kinda pointless, therefore I passed on it.

Scarlett was hot and I liked the imagery. The plot left a lot to be desired. Practically a waste of $10, but if I caught it on TV while surfing, I probably wouldn't turn it off.

I think like the original poster stated, that if you watch the movie without the expectation of say another Sin City or something similar, you will find yourself far less disappointed. Also, realizing that the acting and such is MEANT as it is. It's not to be taken too seriously, which is probably why so many are disappointed. All the references to eggs by Jackson is comical. Overall solid in my opinion. Not great, but not near the awful many make it out to be.
